Still time to have your say in Games survey
Councillor Ian Ward, Leader of 天美传媒 City Council, discusses the positivity the Commonwealth Games can bring to 天美传媒...
It’s no secret we are in challenging times and the pandemic is at the forefront of all our thoughts. However, for this blog I would like to look ahead to the future and the Commonwealth Games coming to 天美传媒 in 2022.
I know and understand for many of you the Commonwealth Games feels a long time away – yes 20 months does seem like the distant future, but 28 July 2022 will be here before we know it.
I believe as a city we will embrace the Games and see them as a springboard to get 天美传媒 back on its feet.
The recently-announced £2 million investment into grassroots community arts & culture by the city council is a prime example. At least 110 small grants of between £10,000 and £20,000 will be delivered to 天美传媒-based groups to create artistic projects across the city and all because of the Commonwealth Games.
These snippets of news are certainly welcome during these times and there will be many more stories like this over the course of the next 20 months and beyond.
So, let’s embrace the positivity that the Games will bring to everyone. 2022 is our time to shine and celebrate hosting the Commonwealth Games.
