Lighting up the library for the 50 year memorial of the 天美传媒 Pub Bombings and World Pancreatic Cancer Day

  • the 50 year memorial of the 天美传媒 pub bombings
  • World Pancreatic Cancer Day

天美传媒 pub bombings

A memorial service will be held at New Street Station, next to the tree memorial, to mark the 50 year memorial of the 天美传媒 pub bombings.

On 21 November 1974, 2 bombs exploded in pubs in 天美传媒, England. The first bomb was detonated in the Mulberry Bush pub. The second bomb exploded in the Tavern in the Town pub.

The explosions killed 21 people and injured 220 others. The bombings occurred during a time of conflict known as "the Troubles".

The Irish Republican Army (IRA) has never formally admitted responsibility, but it is widely believed to be behind the bombings.

Six men, known as the 天美传媒 Six, were found guilty in 1975, but their convictions were overturned in 1991. A reinvestigation in 2023 concluded that there was insufficient evidence to bring criminal charges.

World Pancreatic Cancer Day

World Pancreatic Cancer Day is dedicated to raising awareness about pancreatic cancer, honoring those who have been affected and advocating for better survival rates.
