Lord Mayor’s Award
The City of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s Lord Mayor’s Award is a yearly award.
To nominate an individual or a group of individuals (or an organisation) for the Award you must complete a nomination form (PDF).
You must send your completed form to the Lord Mayor’s Office at the Council House by 28 February for us to consider your suggestion.
What is the Lord Mayor’s Award?
The Lord Mayor’s Award is an award for “outstanding achievement or exceptional service to the City and people of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½”.
It’s not simply for a job that’s been done well or because someone has reached a particular level. Instead, it recognises people who have “gone the extra mile”.
Who’s eligible?
The Lord Mayor’s Award is for individuals or organisations that live, work or are based in ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½. Through their “sustained endeavours, initiative and dedication” they have:
- Improved the reputation or people’s views of the City of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½
- Made a difference to, or improved the lives of, a great number of people in ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½
- Shown outstanding examples of selfless service to the City and its citizens
- Earned the respect of others and be exceptional role models in their field, or
- “against the odds”, shown great moral courage and loyalty to the City and people of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½.
No Councillor is eligible for the Award, and we will not give the Award to anyone for ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ to or for any political party or related organisation.
